Geographic Locations for Clery Reporting

Daily Crime Log of all crimes reported to our police department over the last 60 days is maintained and is available for public review at our office. You may obtain a copy of the log by appearing in person.

Emergency Drill/Testing

The campus emergency notification systems are tested twice a year. The campus is always notified in advance. Additionally, an annual table top emergency planning exercise is completed annually and involves not only university authorities but Chester County and bordering municipal emergency officials.

All On-Campus Emergencies:
Contact the Police Dispatcher at610-436-3311or dial x3311 from an on campus extension. You can also use any of the campus Emergency Phones located across campus and inside most of our buildings, parking lots, and parking garages. Simply push the button to automatically connect to the Public Safety Police Communications Center.
You can also report incidents in person at our station located at 690 South Church Street.

All Off-Campus Emergencies:
Dial 911.

The mission of the West Chester University Department of Public Safety is to enhance the university experience by maintaining a safe, orderly and inviting environment for our students, employees and guests to study, work and enjoy all of what the university has to offer. We fulfill this mission by joining in a partnership with our community.  We are committed to being campus guardians, and to serve our community by treating all with respect, compassion and fairness.

The Department of Public Safety is committed to providing services with the highest degree of integrity, compassion and respect for all persons.  We are committed to maintaining a professional department made up of police officers, security officers, parking enforcement officers and clerical employees. 

We will hold true to the values of creating community trust, building campus confidence in our department and treating all with respect, while carrying out our responsibilities.

We want to be a model for excellence, for this reason we are pursuing law enforcement accreditation.  Only those departments which meet the highest standards throughout their departments are issued law enforcement accreditation.
